about

Lucas, Louis, and Jeff met during their age of youthful indiscretion some time in 2005: during this period they formed friendships based on a love of New York punk, cheap wine, and the mystic allure of exquisite women. Through their other bands and life experiences material indiscretion became metaphysical indiscretion; following the direction of three wild-haired witches, they soon found themselves stuck in a time loop symbolically written by William S. Burroughs, ever manifesting in materiality.

Whipped Cream Chargers was formed initially as the fire escape from the burning tower in which they had found themselves enclosed. They dreamed of the vast and unknown wilderness; for the rock and roll which had opened the world up for them as teenagers, not the vacuous hole which had become a gilded cage of repressed neurosis and death. On their descent they found themselves weeping and laughing at life's grim beauty; looking out of the box, Whipped Cream Chargers began to take shape.

The band began its true formation in late 2008. The electrifying Sebastian Harrison-Naish took the mantle of resident mumbling romantic. Jeffrey John John Lewis (Circle Pit / Atrocities) beats the primal drums of wild lust. Lucas George (Atrocities) performs the mesmeric Rites of Pan in trance with his hypnotic staccato rhythms. Felix Gailey drones the waves of the Mother Sea across the forest. Louis Oliver Roach (Warhorse) makes it all dirty and washes it clean with melodies so wrong and so right at the same time. And The Golden Calf, Johnny Stiff, delivers pounding thrusts deep down low.

Whipped Cream Chargers are a ballistic whirling collision of the serious and the absurd. Taking influence from the very best of 50's rock n' roll, punk, surf and garage, their songs evoke stories of selfish drunken cowboys, confused kamikaze pilots, lost love, murder, teenage lust, bad monkeys and diamond studded yachts.

Their vision is of a world of adventure for adventures sake, of personalities so vital that not even death can bring them to a halt. A broken pastiche of their influences, Whipped Cream Chargers are bandit-lords toting ray-guns crying out for a lay in the vast emptiness of space.

Their first album, entitled "Whip it Out!", to be released 7th April 2012 at the John Curtin Bandroom in Melbourne and the 20th April at The Velvet Cave, Club 77 in Sydney. It has been recently pressed on the back of pre-orders from fans onto twelve inch vinyl in California.

Together these six have played countless shows to sold out audiences and to empty rooms. Now a live act in the truest sense, their recordings and performances will become a lingering regret if missed.

about

Whipped Cream Chargers refuse to eat anything but the finest silk. In the hidden caves of Shangri-La, the King of the Naga blesses them with his holypipe for reals. With the secret siddhis in their possession, they venture far and wide to spin tales of vengeful cowboy badasses, immediate love, and jack and the beanstalk. They are made of solid bullion; secure your harem, and invest. ... more
